Who is our October Iggy Box Candle Maker?
Jiminy Wickit was founded by Rachel in the heart of Hove, Sussex in late 2018. And it is from there, where she hand pours all of her wonderfully scented candles.
Rachel’s inspiration behind creating the brand was for each scent to spark reminders of those special memories with our loved ones.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

This month’s scented candle is a really exciting one… ‘Pumpkin Spice’.
A beautifully warming fragrance to help you welcome in the Halloween and Bonfire season.
Top notes of pumpkin and buttercream on a bed of smoked embers and vanilla, which are all mixed in with the spiced aromas of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. The woody undertones will leave you ready for those cosy autumn nights on the sofa, with a log burning on the fire.

Why did we choose these candles for you?
We absolutely love the festive season. It’s the chance to really celebrate the true essence of autumn and Halloween was an opportunity we couldn’t miss.
We have been following the wonderful Rachel and her journey with Jiminy Wickit for some time. And we’ve been totally drawn in by her love, passion and care that she brings to her candle making.
Most importantly, Iggy Box only source candles from UK based candle makers. Only those who use natural waxes and high quality oils and this month is no exception. We believe this is really important as the candles burn for longer. Enhancing the quality of the burn and the scents will really fill your home each time you light the wick.

Once we took one sniff of Rachel’s beautiful Pumpkin Spice candle, it immediately unearthed those fond childhood memories of going to the pumpkin patch and picking pumpkins ready to carve. Straight away we knew we needed to bring this very special brand and candle to you this Halloween!
Earlier this month, we sat down with Rachel, to talk all things candles, Jiminy Wickit and we also mixed in a bit of fun along the way…
October Meet the Maker Q&A…
What brought you into the world of scented candle making?
Rachel: “I love that certain scents can bring back long forgotten memories of people and places. Everyone uses candles around the world for celebrations, memorials, romantic dinners or cosy nights in. They’re universal and regardless of culture or religion. I just think there’s something really beautiful about that.”
What’s your favourite scented candle?
Rachel: “I love spice notes, like cinnamon & ginger. My nan used to bake a lot of ginger cake so I think those notes remind me of the warmth & comfort of her kitchen.”
What do you love the most about being an artisan candle maker?
Firstly, my house always smells amazing! I really enjoy being creative and building the Jiminy Wickit brand too. Secondly, designing new ranges, taking photographs, building gift hampers, working with brides and businesses to create bespoke items. It’s amazing to see it grows over time.
Who inspires you?
Rachel: My Grandad. He was married to my Nan for over 70 years and the way he loved her was beautiful. He made sure I always knew I was loved, supported and could do whatever I set my mind to.
What is your end goal? How would you like to take over the world?
It would be amazing to see Jiminy Wickit products in stores or even to open my own little shop one day. The big dream would be to start a charity that provides memorial candles to families who may be needing a little extra comfort. The association of scent with memory is so powerful. It would be amazing to help people create that for their loved ones.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself?
Rachel: “It’s a bit of a running joke that I’m 27 going on 70 – I create candles, grow vegetables, bake bread & make jams!”
