Iggy Box Reveal | March Maker

Welcome to your March Iggy Box… ‘Put a little Spring in your step…’

Meet Your March Maker

Our featured maker Sarah, based in Sheffield, initially began crafting candles to spend time bonding with her young children. A brand born out of love in 2019, we are proud to introduce you to… The Little Mcleans.

A vegan-friendly, hand poured range created with relaxation in mind, all crafted from the comfort of ‘The Little Mcleans’ home studio. A brand passionate about giving back, they partner with the charity ‘SolarAid’, to help bring light to poverty stricken parts of the world… and we are very proud to be able to support them with their journey.

Wicks Inside My Box…

The Candle…

This month, we have returned to the simplicity of clear glass and a monochrome label, letting the candle do all the talking. A new scent to The Little Mclean’s collection, ‘Bright & Breezy’ is the perfect home accessory for any room this spring…

A romantic, reminiscent feeling of springtime… let the beautifully infused notes of berries, roses, freesia and blackcurrant leaves wash over you. An undercurrent of musk and rose petals give a soothing base to calm and refresh the body and mind.

The Wax Facts…

The Little One | 20cl | 40 hr burn time | RRP £20

The Bigger One | 30cl | 55 hr burn time | RRP £30

Inside your Iggy Box this month, you’ll also find your ‘Little Something Extra’…

This month, we have partnered with Mallow & Marsh to bring you their ‘Raspberry Mallow Bar’. Fruity raspberry marshmallow, coated in luxuriously rich 70% dark chocolate.. It’s marshmallow but not as you know it!

Handmade in the UK using no artificial colourings or flavourings, palm oil free and with only 132 calories per bar… we are just sorry we couldn’t include two!

Founder, Harriot, began making marshmallow from her kitchen back in 2013 and in 7 years she has created a multi-million pound brand stocked by some of the biggest retailers in the UK.

We’ve tried every flavour here at Iggy HQ and we can’t get enough… so we hope your bar will help you find your own calming mallow moment!

Let’s learn a little more about The Little McLean’s. Earlier this month, we sat down with Sarah to talk all things candles…

How long has your brand been going and is it your full-time job?

I established The Little Mcleans in 2019 and launched in February 2020. As well as The Little Mcleans I work part time for a Housing Association and I love both of my jobs.

Where do you make the candles?

All my candles and wax melts are made in my little studio (AKA our 4th bedroom) which I have very quickly outgrown, and fingers crossed will soon be looking for a bigger studio.

What inspired you to start making candles and your brand?

I am a huge homeware fan and candles have always been a love of mine. I started making candles with my little girl with a candle making kit. It was a way of spending time together and getting creative when I was on maternity leave with my little boy. I had such fun making those candles that within a few weeks we had our very own favourite fragrance and named it.

What is your passion behind the brand?

Our passion is to create luxury and affordable homeware that everyone can enjoy in their own home regardless of budget. Each of our candles have a unique name and we hope to spark our customers imagination, memories, and emotions.

What do you love about ‘Bright & Breezy’?

I love Spring particularity as you feel everything reawakening before summer – it happens to be when I feel most awake throughout the year. Bright and Breezy is infused with blends of berries, roses, freesia and blackcurrant giving you a romantic reminiscent feeling of springtime.

Who inspires you the most?

My younger sister and her fiancé inspire me the most. They started their small business and now they have a successful clothing brand and donate 10% of sales to wildlife charities. They are making a huge difference not just to the face of sustainable fashion, but also to wildlife charities all over the world.

What has been your biggest achievement so far?

My biggest achievement is my two children. They are at the forefront of everything I do in life and the birth of my brand came from time spent with them.

Do you have a fun fact or anecdote about your brand?

No word of a lie, my husband hated candles before I started my business and now, he is an absolute candle addict. He will light our candles as soon as he gets up in the morning and will not settle down at night without one. He also is a huge part in the growth of The Little Mcleans and is my first employee.

Do you have any specific goals for The Little Mcleans?

Our goal is to grow our brand across numerous stockists and we have some exciting new ones lined up for the future and we are currently looking at branching out into other bespoke homeware goods.

We are again supporting our friends over at solar aid with a limited-edition candle that will support their campaign to help others end the darkness in remote parts of the world.

So there you have it, our March reveal and ‘Meet the Maker’… We hope that you enjoyed learning a little bit more about Sarah and her stunning candles.

We also hope that your March boxes bring a Springtime feel to you and if you have gifted a box to someone special, we hope that it puts a spring in their step too!

Happy burning Iggy Boxers!
