This month, our featured makers are husband and wife duo, Sarah and Adam. After the birth of their children, they were determined to burn only the cleanest of candles in their home, leading them to create their own beautiful fragrance brand…
We introduce to you… Artisan Bloom.
After months of research and testing from their base in Liverpool, they saw their passion and hobby become a reality. Their aim is to bring their customers a candle which is gorgeously scented, yet safe, sustainable and ethically made.

LET’S LEARN A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ARTISAN BLOOM…
Earlier this month, we sat down with Sarah from Artisan Bloom to talk all things candles…
How long has your brand been going and is it your full-time job?
Artisan Bloom are a husband and wife team, although we have been making candles longer (just for fun) the brand was officially established around 2 years ago and it became my full-time job but Adam is super busy as he has a day job too.
Where do you make the candles?
We have set up a bijou studio within our home, that’s where all of the candle magic happens.
What inspired you to start making candles and your brand?
I was (and still am) a little candle obsessed, high-end candles were always on the wish list for birthdays and Christmas, valentines and anything in between. Once I became a mother, I stopped lighting up candles due to the negative press and health concerns associated with paraffin candles and became very uneasy with the noticeable soot residue left on the jars. However, I really missed burning candles and after a little while decided to conduct some research and make some of my own that we could happily burn in the family home. Prior to setting up the business officially, candle making was a hobby which has now blossomed into something rather special.
What is your passion behind the brand?
We aim to provide our customers with a beautiful hand poured candle using the finest, ethically sourced ingredients that we can possibly find. We want to offer an alternative to those that want that high-end luxury vibe without the paraffin that is usually in such candles found on the high street.
What do you love about Japanese Honeysuckle?
It is such a charming, sweet, floral fragrance and perfect for the summer months.
Who inspires you the most?
If you had asked this question a few months ago we would have given a very different answer probably citing an individual who had carved a successful and groundbreaking career. However, at present, we are completely overwhelmed at the courage and kindness that has been displayed by the everyday heroes of society in recent months. We are so thankful for the many who are keeping the country going in a multitude of ways.
What has been your biggest achievement so far?
Finding the courage to take the plunge and pursue the dream when I had a perfectly good day job.
Do you have a fun fact or anecdote about your brand?
We make every effort to style our brand to give our candles that touch of luxury and elegance that you see with high-end candles, but we love the fact that rather than being factory-made every candle tells a story – you can light up knowing that your Iggy Box candle was hand made during unprecedented times in a very lively family home containing one husband/daddy one wife/mummy, two oh so loud but loveable dinosaur obsessed preschoolers and two sweet, adorable pugs.
Do you have any specific goals for Artisan Bloom?
We just want to continue what we are doing organically growing our business. We do have plans to branch out into hand made soaps so watch this space!!
