Iggy Box Reveal | December Maker

Welcome to your December Iggy Box… ‘I’m Dreaming Of A White Christmas…’

With the holidays upon us, we have a box to help create your own festive wonderland. Our featured scent is simply Christmas in a jar, your little gift is pure indulgence and we have some exclusive offers to create some festive fun and Christmas wishes…

Our December box features the wonderful Oliva, our first maker from across the Irish Sea! Olivia started her business in 2020 and hand-crafts her stunning collection from her base in Coleraine, Northern Ireland.

We introduce you to ‘Olivia’s Haven’.

We were lucky to discover Olivia just before she launched, and it has been amazing to watch her brand grow. A finalist in the ’Irish Made’ awards 2020, Olivia has created a haven destined for great things. Vegan friendly and made with 100% soy wax, we love how a personal story inspires each scent and how her designs breathe life into every corner of the home.

The candle…

Olivia has created a stunning candle, ‘Christmas At The Old Rectory’  that brings you a white Christmas… with or without the snow!

This month, your beautiful candles feature the classic Christmas spices, including warming notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove… offering you an unmistakable Christmas aroma. This scent is inspired by memories of the Christmas feast and warming mulled wine on the stove. We bring you the ultimate celebration of Christmas!

It’s time to indulge in a glorious, tasty treat to add even more sparkle to your festive fun.

This month we have partnered up with ‘Divine Chocolate’ to bring you their ‘Creamy White Bar’… the most gorgeous treat for the build-up to the holidays.

Chocolate tastes even better knowing it’s doing so much good around the world!

Earlier this month, we sat down with Olivia from Olivia’s Haven to talk about all things candles…

How long has your brand been going and is it your full-time job?

Olivia’s Haven launched on the 27th February this year. The business has been growing rapidly since then which has allowed me to leave my previous job as Head of Brand and PR at a tech start-up and make running Olivia’s Haven my full-time job.

Where do you make the candles?

I make the candles, diffusers and wax melts from my workshop on the North Coast of Northern Ireland. If you want to see behind the scenes come and find us on Instagram @olivias_haven where I will show you the daily goings-on in the studio.

What inspired you to start making candles and your brand?

As a self-confessed candle lover, I have always adored the wonderful ambience that a candle creates and I have grown increasingly fascinated with the link between scent and helping people to recall their memories. I was inspired two years ago to finally take action and start creating a range of home fragrance products with a unique blend of fragrances all inspired by my own scent memories and focused on the people and places I love.

What is your passion behind the brand?

Illustration, design and storytelling are the passion behind Olivia’s Haven which I use to communicate the personal meaning behind each of the luxurious fragrances. My candles and reed diffusers all come with a scent story and I also worked with an illustrator to further bring these stories to life through fun and vibrant drawings. This has made each of the boxes look like a work of art and make my range the perfect gift!

What do you love about ‘Christmas At The Old Rectory’?

The thing I love the most about Christmas at the Old Rectory is the happy Christmas memories it continually recreates for me with every burn. Here is this candle’s story…

Every Christmas Day my family would gather at my Aunt and Uncle’s Old Rectory home in Bushmills, Northern Ireland for a festive feast.

We are greeted by the comforting smell of mulled wine simmering on the stove, before moving into the dining room to enjoy Christmas lunch with all the trimmings.

Christmas evening is then spent around the fire, opening presents and playing charades.

I created this classic Christmas candle with its warming notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves as a celebration of my favourite day of the year.

Who inspires you the most?

I am so early in my business journey so I am always really inspired by other creative businesses and people who took the leap and actually started their own business. I particularly love Holly Tucker. She started Not On The High Street from the kitchen table and is a cheerleader for businesses – such an inspiring lady.

What has been your biggest achievement so far?

My biggest achievement has been starting Olivia’s Haven this year and growing it in the midst of a global pandemic. It has been a challenging year for most and I am just so grateful for the support that everyone has shown towards my business and other independent businesses right across the UK.

Do you have any specific goals for Olivia’s Haven?

We have so many goals for Olivia’s Haven but some of the short term ones will see us introduce new and exciting fragrances and products in 2021. We would love you to be part of the exciting journey. Follow the flame on Instagram @olivias_haven.

So there you have it, our December reveal and ‘Meet the Maker’… We hope that you enjoyed learning a little bit more about Olivia and her gorgeous Olivia’s Haven candles.

We also hope that your December boxes bring lots of cosy comfort to you and if you have gifted a box to someone special, we hope that it brings some cosy comfort to them too!

Happy burning Iggy Boxers!
